Trivett, a physical education teacher at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School, is already familiar with CSM’s lacrosse program, having served as an assistant coach for the Hawks for the past two years. Trivett also has 10 years of playing experience, playing lacrosse in the mid-attack position through high school in Purcellville, Va., and a year in college.

“I can’t wait to see how the season goes,” Trivett said. “I really hope we can get a few wins and start creating an amazing and successful women’s lacrosse program. I love the sport, and I am so excited for this opportunity to teach student athletes the love of the game of lacrosse.”

Annie Sullivan of Prince Frederick will serve as the team’s assistant coach.

CSM Executive Director of Student Life and Athletics Michelle Ruble said that Trivett is already moving the team in a positive direction. “We are very excited Brooke Trivett is taking the helm of our women’s lacrosse program,” Ruble said. “She is a high-energy person and passionate about the game. She has done exceptionally well recruiting in the short time since she was named to the position. We are looking forward to the spring when we can see the team take the field.”

CSM began offering women’s lacrosse in spring 2015. The Hawks women opted to play at the club level last spring due to a smaller, less experienced roster. However, the team is slated to be a varsity sport for the 2018 season.
