CSM Cause Theatre Presents Don Zolidis’ “It’s Not You, It’s Me.” 8 p.m., Oct. 5, College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus, Flagship Building, Room 119, 115 J.W. Whether your boyfriend is a Canadian secret agent or monk in training, or your girlfriend is a psychic or pathological liar, one thing is for sure: they are about to dump you. Exploring the painful art of breaking-up through comedic, awkwardly realistic characters, this series of wildly hilarious scenes is sure to leave the audience feeling relieved not to be on the receiving end of those five fatal relationship words. CSM Cause Theatre Presents Tim Kelly’s “The Empty Chair.” 8 p.m., Jan. 25, College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus, Flagship Building, Room 119, 115 J.W. Williams Road, Prince Frederick. In a counseling center for teenagers recovering from substance abuse, one of the teenager’s peers, Robert, has just died of an overdose. Unsure of whether the incident is an accident or suicide, the atmosphere is tense and uneasy. Each young person recalls their memories of Robert and the dramatic monologues tell us a great deal about each speaker and the terrors of drug abuse. CSM Children’s Theatre Presents “Moby Dick.” 7 p.m., Oct. 12; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Oct. 13, College of Southern Maryland, La Plata Campus, Fine Arts Center, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. Produced with special arrangement by The Dramatic Publishing Company, Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick,” adapted for the stage by Mark Rosenwinkel, presents Ishmael, a young man in search of adventure, first mate Stubb, and Queequeg as the mystical Polynesian harpooner. The trio set off aboard the Pequod, a whaling ship piloted by the brooding captain Ahab. As they sail deeper into unknown waters, they discover the real reason for their quest: to hunt and kill Moby Dick, the legendary white whale who long ago devoured the captain's leg.
