St. Charles Children's Learning Center Benefits from MSDE Grant

The St. Charles Learning Center (CLC) at CSM invited Andrew Topps from the Maryland State Department of Education (MDSE) as a celebrity reader to read “My Many Colored Days” by Dr. Seuss to the children in appreciation of a grant provided by MDSE to help increase the books in the CLC library.

As part of a thank you to the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), coordinator of non-public school services, Andrew Topps visited the St. Charles Children’s Learning Center at the College of Southern Maryland (CLC) and read a book as an example of those funded by a grant from MSDE.

The CLC welcomed Topps May 17 as a Celebrity Reader who read “My Many Colored Days” by Dr. Seuss. The book, along with many others, are part of a grant awarded from MSDE under the non-public school textbook program to provide additional books, computer games and music to the CLC.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary where learning is child's play, the Children's Learning Center nurtures and enhances the lives of children and their parents by creating an environment that helps children interact with their world and peers, and building confidence, self-esteem and a life-long love of learning.
