St. Charles Children's Learning Center Awarded MSDE Grant

The St. Charles Children’s Learning Center (CLC) at the College of Southern Maryland has received a grant in the amount of $9,000 from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) as part of the non-public school textbook program to support the growth of the CLC’s library.

“The grant is a blessing. It will give the CLC the funds it needs to work towards accreditation,” said CLC Director Lynn Duff. This is the second year the center has received this grant. Duff said the grant will enhance the CLC's use of books, music CDs and computer programs for the before and after program.

The Children's Learning Center nurtures and enhances the lives of children and their parents by creating an environment that helps children interact with their world and peers, and building confidence, self-esteem and a life-long love of learning.
