Effort Addresses Issue of Violence Against Women
College of Southern Maryland physical therapy major Sabrina Lemire, of Leonardtown, decorates a T-shirt as part of the National Network for the Clothesline Project.
The project addresses the issue of violence against women and is a venue for women affected by violence, their friends and family, and others in the community to express their emotions. The colleges participation in the Clothesline Project is sponsored by CSMs Institutional Equity and Diversity Office, with T-shirts donated by the Tri-County Maryland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Nu Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
I wanted to make a shirt to represent all the women in the world that deserve to be treated like queens, said Lemire. T-shirts created during CSMs observance of this project will be on through April 12 on the Leonardtown Campus.
