CSM Twilight Performance Series: Blues, Rock, Jazz

Leonardtown, Prince Frederick Host 3rd Week of Series

The third week of the College of Southern Maryland’s (CSM) Twilight Performance Series will offer a mixture of blues, rock and jazz for audiences enjoying the free, family-friendly entertainment at the Leonardtown and Prince Frederick campuses.

The Dave Chappell Band will perform on the Great Lawn of the Leonardtown Campus, 6:45 p.m., July 21. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will move indoors to Building A, Auditorium.

“The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Jazz Combo will perform at the Prince Frederick Campus, 6:45 p.m. July 23, with inclement weather location in Building B, Multipurpose Room.

Chappell, a Washington, D.C. native, has won Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES) for Musician of the Year, Rock Instrumentalist of the Year and Roots Rock Instrumentalist of the Year. He has performed with legends Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Moore of Sam & Dave, Percy Sledge, Johnny Johnson and Danny Gatton. For information, visit http://www.guitardavechappell.com/home.

“The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band was established by an act of Congress in 1798, with most of its members holding advanced degrees from places like the Julliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.
