CSM Theatre Company Presents Lives of Working Class

The College of Southern Maryland's Theatre Company will present

The musical, ‘Working,’ to run Nov. 7-16 at La Plata Campus

The College of Southern Maryland Theatre Company presents “Working,” a musical based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with workers as its fall performance.

‘Working’ paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the waitress, the millworker, the mason and the housewife, to name only a few.

“This is a great story about working people, the ones we drive or walk by every day and never think about,” said Keith Hight, CSM coordinator of theatre and dance and the director of “Working.” “These are their lives, and the play is just as relevant now as it was in the 1970s. ‘Working’ is ‘A Chorus Line’ for the working man, where we can all catch a glimpse into the dark places of society.”

The large cast, many players taking on more than one role, includes Aimee Bonnet of White Plains, Alex LaClair of La Plata, Alexis Miller of Gambrills, Anna Henry of White Plains, Anthony Montgomery of Pomfret, Brandon Jones of Clinton, Christopher Lange of Port Republic, Danielle LeDoux of Indian Head, Emmeline Jones of Mechanicsville, Horace Brandon Jones of Cheltenham, Jacob LeJeune of California, Jiamie Green of Waldorf, Jamie Burroughs of Mechanicsville, Jeremy Hunter of La Plata, Jeremy Smith Boggs of Waldorf, J.R. Cook of Lexington Park, Kaytlin Medley of Waldorf, Ken LaClair of La Plata, Kenneth Waters Jr. of Waldorf, Laura Stephens of Waldorf, Lisa LaClair of La Plata, Marleigh Ferguson of Pomfret, Pat McConkey of Waldorf, Philip Holland of Waldorf, Robert Hamilton of Marbury, Sean Smith of Waldorf, Taejiana Curtis of Waldorf and Xaiver Prince of Waldorf.

“Working” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International and will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 7 and 14, and at 8 p.m., Nov. 8, 9, 15 and 16 in the Fine Arts Center on the La Plata Campus, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata.
