CSM Students, Alumni Can Seek Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarships

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is seeking nominations for scholarships available to students and recent alumni from community colleges, including the College of Southern Maryland.

During the spring 2008 semester, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, a private non-profit, will award approximately 50 transfer scholarships. Each award may total up to $30,000 annually per recipient. These scholarships can be used for tuition, fees, books and room and board.

CSM students with 30 or more credits by December 31, 2007 or CSM alumni who have earned an associate’s degree since spring 2003 and have not since transferred to a four-year college are eligible to apply.

CSM may only nominate two individuals. Interested students and alums must obtain application instructions directly from the foundation at www.jackkentcookefoundation.org. An application and two letters of recommendation must be submitted online on or before Jan. 18. Additionally, all required supporting documentation, including college and high school transcripts, must be submitted to CSM Professor Michael. R.
