CSM Reschedules 14th Winter Commencement to Jan. 18

Due to inclement weather, the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has rescheduled its 14th Winter Commencement to Jan. 18.

            CSM will award 565 associate degrees and 361 certificates to 632 candidates for graduation: 39 percent of the students receiving awards are from Charles County, 33 percent are from St. Mary’s County and 23 percent are from Calvert County while 5 percent are from outside of the region.

            Associate degrees will be awarded predominantly in the fields of general studies, business administration, and arts and sciences, while general studies: transfer and advanced and basic accounting topped the list as the most popular certificates. Of the graduates, 67 percent are female. The ages of this winter’s associate’s degree and certificate candidates range from 18 to 63.

            CSM’s Nurses Recognition Ceremony is at 1 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the Physical Education (PE) Center on the La Plata Campus with a reception immediately following on the upper level of the PE Center. The Winter Commencement Ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the PE Center with a reception immediately following in the Center for Business and Industry (BI), Chaney Enterprises Conference Room BI-113.
