Promoting the annual CSM Night at the Ballpark, Pinch, the Blue Crabs mascot visited the St. Charles Childrens Learning Center (CLC) at the College of Southern Marylands (CSM) La Plata campus on Aug. 30 as a Celebrity Reader to read a story and invite the children to the baseball game on Sept. 14.
CSM will kick off the fall semester with its fourth year of CSM Night at the Ballpark, providing an evening of baseball and community for incoming freshman and returning students to meet, and an evening of fun for CSM graduates and community supporters.
Various prizes will be offered that evening for those attending the game, including an Aspire netbook from the College Store, and fitness assessments and group fitness exercise class passes from the Wellness, Fitness and Aquatics Department, among other items. Raffle tickets will be on sale during the game at the CSM Foundation table on the concourse for a chance to win full access to the G.S. Proctor & Associates Suite #9 during a Blue Crabs game next season. The drawing will take place during the seventh-inning stretch and proceeds from the raffle will support CSM scholarships.
CSM staff will be available on the concourse throughout the night to answer questions on degree programs, community education and workforce development non-credit programs, arts events, STEM and scholarship opportunities.
The night will be filled with giveaways and a post-game fireworks show.
