Threat of Weather Moves Ceremony to PE Building, Overflow to FA Center
The College of Southern Maryland is moving tonights 56th Commencement Ceremony indoors due to the threat of inclement weather.
Tickets, which have been distributed to graduates, are required for entry into the Physical Education (PE) Building. Overflow seating is available in the Fine Arts (FA) Center where the ceremony will be streaming live. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins. Doors will be closed once the procession begins and guests will not be admitted thereafter.
The safety of CSM students, guests and employees is of the utmost importance. CSM will be conducting a bag check and everyone may be subject to a bag check before entry to the PE and FA buildings. Students and guests are encouraged to leave large bags, purses, diaper bags and backpacks in vehicles as these might be subject to the bag check process at the door.
