Registration Open to New, Returning Students

The College of Southern Maryland has mailed new course listing brochures to Southern Maryland mailboxes. The complete schedule of classes with dates, times and locations for classes is being replaced with a 2011 fall semester brochure with a listing of course offerings by program of study. Students are being directed to consult CSM’s full course listings online for their course schedules.

“The online course listings will give students the most up-to-date information on the availability of classes,” said CSM Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Joan Middleton. “Where students might have worked out a semester schedule only to find out when they tried to register that some courses were already full, the new online system provides real-time availability of courses.”

The online schedule can be accessed through Register.csmd.edu 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Students who do not have Internet access can speak to an advisor, can access computers or can walk-in to register at any campus or at the Waldorf Center.

Fall registration is now open for new and returning students. Throughout the summer, academic advisors are available to assist students with class selection. For days and times of all campuses, visit www.csmd.edu/academicadvising.

On Aug. 6, all campuses will host a One-Stop registration event where students can apply, take placement tests, meet with an advisor, register for classes and apply for financial aid or a payment plan. The Waldorf Center will host a One-Stop event on Aug. 9.

At the time of registration, students must pay 20 percent of their tuition bill to hold their classes, with full payment due by Aug. 17.

Classes begin for the regular session and for the mini-session I on Sept. 6.
