CSM Hosts Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk, 1-Mile Walk for Fun. 9 a.m., Nov. 18, College of Southern Maryland, La Plata Campus, Physical Education (PE) Center, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. CSMs Wellness, Fitness and Aquatics Department will sponsor a 5k run/walk and a one-mile walk with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and the CSM Foundation. Registration will be open the day of the event 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. outside the PE Center. The run will take place at the La Plata Campus and will start and end in front of the PE Center. Trophies will be awarded to the top three runners in the categories of younger than 40 and 40 and older. Giveaways and refreshments will be available. Pre-registration entry fees are $25 for Turkey Trot 5k, $15 for one-mile walk, $15 for senior citizens and $35 for race-day registration. Pre-registration for the event ends Nov. 15.
