Community Service Project Enhances All-College Convocation Event

Faculty and staff at the College of Southern Maryland were joined by members of the armed forces in stuffing 1,300 backpacks with school supplies for the Children’s Aid Society of Charles County on Aug. 16 at the La Plata Campus.

The Pack-A-Backpack service project was part of CSM’s fourth All-College Convocation which brought faculty and staff from all campuses together to celebrate accomplishments and collaborate with peers before the start of the 2013-14 academic year. The Children’s Aid Society plans to distribute the backpacks before the start of the school year.
