The convocation will bring together faculty and staff as one college to collaborate and celebrate one of the colleges core values: innovation.
The College of Southern Maryland values innovation as part of our culture. Innovation spurs change, identifies efficiencies and encourages advancement, said CSM President Dr. Brad Gottfried. Our fifth annual All-College Convocation will focus on Innovation in Actionin our classrooms, in our business practices and within our community. It is a great opportunity for the college staff and faculty to gather not only to collaborate but to celebrate our achievements.”
The day will showcase how each employee plays a vital role in student success, with an expo featuring all departments reflecting their initiatives toward student degree completion and student success. Afternoon breakout sessions will engage participants in What if scenarios to spark discussion on innovative ways the college can advance its core goals.
For the second year, faculty and staff will participate in a service project to pack book bags for children in need. In coordination with Childrens Aid Society of Charles County the goal is to stuff 1,500 book bags.
During the All-College Convocation, online access will be available at www.csmd.edu and through my.CSMD services. Classes for the fall semester will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
