CSM Diversity Institute, Charles County NAACP Invite Students to Submit their 'Creative Expressions'

March 12 Deadline for Entries on Theme “Pursuing Liberty in the Face of Injustice”

The College of Southern Maryland's Diversity Institute in partnership with the Charles County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is sponsoring the 2016 “Creative Expressions” contest. The contest is open to all CSM students and to any student enrolled in grades K-12 in Charles County. The deadline to submit work is March 12.

Participants are asked to reflect on the theme, “Pursuing Liberty in the Face of Injustice” using artwork, essay, spoken word poetry or digital media works. Entries will be judged on creativity, thought-provoking and informative content, relevance to theme, and spelling and grammar. All submissions must include the Creative Expressions Contest Entry Form available online at www.csmd.edu/CreativeExpressionsContest.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges representing the Diversity Institute, Charles County NAACP, Charles County Board of Education and CSM. Winners in each category will receive scholarship awards for either Kids' and Teen College, or CSM courses through the CSM Foundation. In addition, contest winners will be invited to the 2016 Creative Expression Awards Brunch.
