CSMs Communication Day keynote speaker was ABC-7 News Reporter Roz Plater, a native of Calvert County, who told area high school students that this is a great time to get into the communication field. She encouraged students to read everything they could get their hands on; to learn about backpack journalism technology such as photography, shooting and editing video, and building and managing a website; to stay current on social media trends and work on mobile platforms such as smartphones; and to study a second language. Never stop learning. In this industry it is important to keep your skills fresh, Plater said.
