Theatre Company Announces Cast for Production, ‘Flaming Idiots,’ Sept. 22-24, Sept. 29-Oct. 1

The College of Southern Maryland’s Theatre Company presents its cast for the fall dinner theatre production of “Flaming Idiots,” a comedy written by Tom Rooney.

CSM’s cast includes Jeremy Hunter as Phil; Rusty Hrabe as Task; Rami Essa as Louie; Laura Stephens as Bernadette and Christen Carlsen as Jaynce Fryman, all of Waldorf. Also appearing on stage will be father-and-son duo, Kenneth LaClair as Carl and Alex LaClair as Eugene, both of La Plata, as well as Mitch Xerxes Landon of Great Mills as Ernesto and the body to be played by an audience member to be determined.

Two average guys, Phil and Carl, decide that the ladder to success at the post office is missing a few rungs. They know that big money is waiting for people with entrepreneurial spirit and sound business judgment. They have lots of the spirit but little of the judgment and their new gourmet health food restaurant flounders. Zippy’s, a popular cross town spot, has been crowded ever since Cy Manamalancia, a notorious mobster, was shot there and that was more than 20 years ago. What if someone could get murdered in their restaurant?

Performances are Sept. 22-24 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and military members with ID and $15 for youth ages 12 and younger. For information contact bxoffc@csmd.edu, 301-934-7828, or http://www.csmd.edu/arts.
