Clean and Safe Energy Coalition (CASEnergy) Co-Founder Dr. Patrick Moore, former leader of Greenpeace, met with College of Southern Maryland students, administrators and faculty Nov. 15 to learn about the college’s partnership with Constellation Energy Nuclear Group (CENG). CSM’s Nuclear Engineering Technology (NET) associate’s degree program provides scholarships and internship opportunities at CENG as well as employment opportunities in Southern Maryland. At CSM’s temporary Center for Nuclear Energy Training (CNET) facility, four miles south of the college’s Prince Frederick Campus, Moore, left, joined by CSM Business and Technology Chair Robert Gates, right, spoke with first-year NET students about his personal journey from anti-nuclear activist to advocate for nuclear energy. CNET will move to its permanent location on the Prince Frederick Campus following completion of Phase II construction in 2013.
