CSM Theatre Company Announces Cast for Cause Theatre Production, ‘Don’t You Luv Me?,’ March 24 -April 9

The College of Southern Maryland’s Theatre Company presents its cast for the Cause Theatre production of Linda Daughtery’s, “Don’t You Luv Me?,” a play that offers a simple question, in text message format. Who would guess that it reflects a growing problem among teen-agers, escalated by technology, that can lead to stalking, obsession, aggression, manipulative possessiveness, date violence and rape?

The play deals with the subject of date violence and its epidemic proportions in the United States while encouraging young people to make choices that result in healthy relationships.

CSM’s Cause Theatre offers several touring shows per semester, each bringing to light a different social issue, designed to be informative and challenging. Each is followed by a facilitated discussion.

CSM’s cast includes CJ played by Cory Bragg, Angela played by Mia McCaslin, Erika played by Brooke Jenkins, Brad played by Alex LaClair, all of La Plata; Sam played by Christian Harris, Sara played by Alyshia Bradley, Duffy played by Christina Manley, all of Leonardtown; Jen played by Ashley Jemerson of Waldorf and Candice played by Charity Tolbert of Upper Marlboro.

Performances are March 24-26 on the Prince Frederick Campus, Room 119, March 31-April 2 on the La Plata Campus, Black Box Theatre, Room FA 143, and April 7-9 at the Leonardtown Campus, Building A, Auditorium, all showing at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5.
