The College of Southern Maryland announces Lynn E. Duff as its director of the St. Charles Children’s Learning Center at CSM. Duff brings 25 years of experience to the position and a passion for children and learning.

“It’s important that children have people around them that can teach them every minute of the day,” Duff said regarding the importance of early childhood education. “I want to inspire children to learn so that they know they have potential, and to set a foundation so that learning is fun and exciting.”

A resident of California, Md., Duff previously was the director of Little Seedlings Christian Pre-school and Kindergarten. She is a member of several organizations dedicated to children, including the St. Mary’s Early Childhood Team and the Charles County Early Care & Education Team.  She has also helped Boy Scout Troop 420 on two Eagle Scout projects, Girl Scout Troop 1687 on two gold awards and Girl Scout Troop 2458 on a silver award.

Duff received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and started her career as a first- grade teacher. A Master Gardener, Duff is also interested in cooking and sewing. She enjoys science and admires the character Miss Frizzle of the cartoon show, “The Magic School Bus.”
