Works Include Original Stories, Poetry, Art from Students, Faculty, Community
The College of Southern Maryland will host a reading of the spring edition of its biannual literary magazine Connections, at 7:30 p.m., May 2 at the Center for Business and Industry (BI) Building, Dr. John M. Sine Conference Room BI-103, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. The reading will feature original poems, stories and photographs by students, faculty, staff and members of the Southern Maryland community.
At the spring publication reading, the public will enjoy epistolary prose, stories about war and childhood, a runaway slave narrative and thought-provoking photographs, said CSM Professor and Connections Editor Neal Dwyer.
Poetry contributors include Sherbie Carson, Rachel Heinhorst, Patrick Allen, Jeffrey Beck, Judith Allen-Leventhal, Judy Angelheart, Robin Karis, Peyton Reynolds and Ethan Fugate.
Prose contributors include William Poe, Leslie Dickey, Russell Yaffe, Sandra Lee Anderson, Sharon Mroz and Ahmad Wright.
Art contributors include Allison Burnett, Anna Readen, Ed Moroney, Brenda Jones and Judy Angelheart.
Connections is a regional journal published fall and spring semesters featuring poems, stories, artwork and photography created by residents of Southern Maryland. Free copies of the spring magazine will be available at the reading. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the English Honor Society.
