Patriotism and creativity are alive at the St. Charles Childrens Learning Center (CLC) at the College of Southern Marylands La Plata Campus, as children pose with a flag they made to thank service men and women during military appreciation week. The flag was created with footprints by 2-year-olds, hand prints of infants, and messages of encouragement from the St. Charles Childrens Learning Center staff.
Following the CLC Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m., July 2 on the La Plata Campus the flag will be on display on the steps of the Learning Resource Building, and available for further signing of thanks by faculty and staff before it is sent to Capt. Stephen Schmeiser of Patuxent River Naval Air Station. From left are Child Care Aid Sam Cozzens, and 2-year-olds Myer Kilinski, Lane Parsons, Jordyn Tyler, Dillan Kuhl, Spencer Taylor, Savannah Burch, Jason Aubel and Teacher Jackie Sentner.
