CSM’s Twilight Performance Series Features Sara Gray, Amanda Daughtry, Airmen of Note

Country singer Sara Gray will perform July 15 at the Leonardtown Campus as part of CSM’s 2014 Twilight Performance Series.

The College of Southern Maryland’s Twilight Performance Series continues July 15 through 17 with free, family-friendly, outdoor concerts that feature local artists performing a variety of music, including country and big band. The fourth week of the Twilight Performance Series includes two country musicians and a dance band.

Sara Gray will be performing at the Leonardtown Campus on July 15. A Southern Maryland native, Gray has been singing and performing all her life.

Amanda Daughtry will be performing at the La Plata Campus on July 16. During her teenage years, Daughtry sang in many theater and country music variety shows before putting together a full band of her own.

The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note will perform at the Prince Frederick Campus on July 17. Created in 1950 to carry on the tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps dance band, today the “Note” features 18 jazz musicians and is one of the last touring big bands.

All performances begin at 6:45 p.m. Twilight Performance Series sponsors include Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, Community Bank of the Chesapeake, Leonardtown Business Association, Southern Solutions and the CSM Foundation. Grants have been provided by the Arts Council of Calvert County, St. Mary’s County Arts Council and Maryland State Arts Council. Along with performing extensively in the Maryland and DC area, Gray has opened for country acts Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith and American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler.
