College Staffs Earn 7 Awards from NCMPR
The College of Southern Maryland came up as the lucky-seven winner when its marketing and public relations efforts were honored with seven awards at the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) annual district conference in Atlantic City, NJ, Nov. 2. The NCMPR recognized the college's marketing department with five medallion awards and the colleges community relations department with two medallion awards for efforts completed during 2009.
Efforts receiving recognition were gold awards for the colleges viewbook and its Career Starter booklet; silver awards for the colleges marketing campaign, social marketing, the Southern Maryland Regional Piano Competition project and the videos of Real Students, Real Stories.; and a bronze award for the media efforts of CSMs largest private cash donation of $1 million from Dr. Francis P. Chiaramonte
Since 2004 CSM has received 19 NCMPR medallions. The awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence in community, technical and junior college efforts. NCMPRs District 1 includes Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and the United Kingdom.
