Area Law Enforcement Capture Attention of Students in CSM’s Criminal Justice Program

With freshly starched and crisply creased uniforms, shiny buckles and badges, and spit-and-polished shoes, the recruiters and officers representing state and local law enforcement agencies met with current and future College of Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Program students Nov. 3 at the college’s La Plata Campus.

Linda Rodriguez of Waldorf, a criminal justice major, took the opportunity to talk with Maryland State Troopers and Charles County Sheriff’s Department officers about hiring requirements and the types of jobs that match her interests.

Kaitlyn Brandt of La Plata, a criminal justice major, had no difficulty finding her area of interest—when the K-9 unit demonstration began, she was smiling ear-to-ear.
