The College of Southern Maryland’s Theatre Company presents its cast for the Cause Theatre production of Linda Daugherty’s, “EAT (It’s Not About Food),” a play that dramatizes the dangerous and baffling world of eating disorders in girls and boys.

The play explores causes and warning signs, taking a hard look at the influences of society and the media and tells individual stories of young people struggling with this epidemic and too often tragic problem.

CSM’s Cause Theatre offers several touring shows per semester, each bringing to light a different social issue, designed to be informative and challenging. Each is followed by a facilitated discussion.

CSM’s cast includes Amy played by Mia McCaslin of La Plata, Amy’s mom played by Christina Manly of Great Mills and Amy’s dad played by Jeremy Hunter of La Plata; Dr. Ellison played by Jennifer Nunez of Chaptico; Jessica Ferguson of Upper Marlboro as the waitress; Emily played by Kathryn Sullivan of La Plata and Angela Alexander of Waldorf; Amanda played by Brittany Renfro and Courtney Allen, both of Waldorf; Teri played by Rudee Brothers and Erica Hadden, both of Waldorf; Jamie played by Alyshia Bradley of Lexington Park and Mary Gmaz of La Plata; teen girls played by Devie Pettie of Mechanicsville and Megan Ponter of Pomfret; Ryan Myslenski of Indian Head as Joey and teen boys played by Eid Brian Taylor of Waldorf and Cory Bragg of Indian Head.
