Make-up Artist Samantha Zanelotti Gets Nod for Work in Love, Sex, and the IRS
College of Southern Maryland student Samantha Zanelotti, left, of Mechanicsville has an eye for spotting flaws in Hollywood movie make-up that drives her friends crazy. She calls out fake-looking gashes, scars and blood while the group is trying to enjoy the suspense and horror of the moment. Zanelottis passion for detail has earned her a nomination for stage make-up from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for her work on CSMs production of Love, Sex, and the IRS where she transformed Alex LaClair of La Plata, right, into Leslie. Zanelotti will represent CSM at the competition in January 2012 at the University of Indiana in Pennsylvania. Two years ago, I was thrown into doing make-up for a haunted house, and I loved it, said Zanelotti. She loves it so much, that after receiving her associates degree in communication this spring, she is returning to CSM for a degree in theater.
