25 Contributors Provide Insight, Readings During Literary Event
The Fall 2017 Literary Magazine of the College of Southern Maryland, “Connections,” features the poetry, prose and photography of 25 contributors, who were featured during the Dec. 1 literary reading at the La Plata Campus. To view the reading, visit https://youtu.be/0MxuIElBAvQ.
This fall’s event reflects the work of local writers reading poems and stories selected for publication in the college’s regional literary journal published twice a year. Contributors included Eleora Bartsch, Sherbie Carson, Thomas Donohue, Neal Dwyer, Chaunte Garrett, Rachel Heinhorst, Niquisha B. Keys, Ginette Krantz, Alexis Kubala, Michele LaCroix, Kate Lassman, Jim McDonald, William Moroney, Diane Payne, Jennifer Polhemus, Mikaela Pollard, Mary Prather, Melissa Reese, JR Rhine, Zach Smith, Richard Taylor, Paul Toscano, Joanne Van Wie, Liz Weaver and Christopher Wilkins.
The Connections Literary Series is sponsored by the CSM Languages and Literature Department. Since 1990, the Connections program has featured writers such as National Book Award winners Tim O’Brien and Robert Stone, Pulitzer Prize winning poets Yusef Komunyakaa and Henry Taylor and Maryland Poet Laureates Lucille Clifton and Michael Glaser.
The literary series will continue in the spring and will include visits to CSM by poets Fleda Brown on March 2 and Nickole Brown on April 6.
